yeah. I installed the Yahoo Go software. That's the only thing I added and it did seem to happen right around the same time. I guess I'll try to remove it and see if that makes the problem go away.

Im having the same exact problem.... got the q9c from sprint. I had Yahoo!Go on my q as well... removed Yahoo!Go and the predictive text is still not working... tried removing the battery, went into the text input settings, cleared the predictive text history.. nothing works. ive only had the q for a bout 3 weeks now. Ive already replaced this thing 3 times for different reason.. im thinking of returning it and getting my bread back! still think im within the 30 days...

ANYONE have ANY ideas?? i would hate to return such a awesome phone.. ...maybe..

...yea i probably won't but.... i would like to know a solution for this little problem...

-update:
It seems to work still, just not when writing a text message. works in Word just fine.... very weird.

UPDATE 2: this really bothers me, thus i havent given up finding an answer... and i think i have. didnt want to do it, but i ended up doing a master reset. lost all my data, (which wasnt much but i now have to re enter 300 plus contacts.) but the input text is now working like a charm... even installed yahooGo and it still works.... dont know what caused this but its gone now.... well see how long it lasts!!! keep you guys updated...hope this helps someone..

This is an old thread, but what worked for me was to perform a factory reset and start over. My saga:
http://www.everythingq.com/forum/mot...s-24432-2.html

I suspect that, in the end, what got me was capping out on free memory, temporarily breaking some typical garbage collection/temp cleanup which irreparably cluttered my device (storage/memory/registry/something). I didn't have the patience to wait through SK Tools menu clicking after performing the most basic maint using it, so a reset was an easy option.
