Default storage space is low warning

I have recently been getting "storage space is low" warning in memory manager. I also recently lost a bunch of emails and text messages which I suspect may be related to that warning.

How can I increase the storage space? My device shows 9.81 MB free.

however there is a application called AppMover, tried it once but decided un-install and re-install was just as quick..

I'm interested in the picture question answer as well.
My card has photos from another phone which shows as a folder. Moving the photos to the "root" makes them disappear entirely.

I'm also running low on memory and will spent somw time today un & re-installing programs.
I haven't checked the space Loive is using but where ae you caching it's files? I have it set to cache on the card.
