Question Some Questions

I owned the original Q and went through 5 before deciding it was time for something different. I installed no third party software but still had numerous problems. I went to the store to buy the 8830 but left with the Q9m because I love the wireless sync option for my personal email. My problem is with how slow the Q is compared with the alternatives. I have been searching the forums for ways to increase the speed and reliability of the phone but still have questions.

1.Do I need third party software to do speed hacks and if so what and where to get it?

2.If I need additional software are the hacks pretty simple? Keep in mind I have never done any before.

3.What are the best hacks? I really don't mind the browser being slow but I hate the phone taking so long to launch programs and do simple things like change between screens.

I do apprecaite any help in advance I have been searching through the post in these and other forums for clear answers to these questions before I take the phone back and get the 8830 that I don't like near as much as the Q.

pyrobling did some Q1 hacks on a Q9, find his thread.. kind of senseless to repeat what he wrote... if you really searched you should have found the answers.

posted on the Q.

Well I figured that might be the kind of response that i got. I did search and it seemed to me that every one so far has ended with people not doing them right or having problems afterwards. I was thinking that since some time had gone by and maybe some tweaks done I could get a clearer response on what to do and how it affected the phone.

I did and I tried to install resco explorer but it would not install on my phone. It said that it was not for my firmware. I would like to get this program working so that I can try some hacks.

Try PHM Registry editor or Total Commander CE. Both are freeware.

Total Commander CE has support for WM6 and a support forum so maybe you should try that.
