Saving A Sound As A ringtone - Motorola Q Forum

okay.... so im pretty new at everything with this phone. i have tons and tons of questions but no one ever seems to respond to me. so first off, i have recieved a picture message with a sound i wanna save as a ringtone, when i save it, it says saved as unknown001 in template gallery, first off i have no idea how to access that, secondly, i dont understand what it means in all the hacks to "Navigate" is that through autosync on your computer or is this something within the phone? someone please help me i would be very much so greatful to whoever did... if anyone has IM or something that could make it faster and easier i would be extremely happy as well

if you get a sound as an MMS you need to use the save object feature and then find where it saved to and move it to the sounds folder

to do hacks you need a registry editor
info on those can be found in the hacks forum in the first sticky post

i dont really get how to find where i saved it to... it said template gallery where would i go to find that

sounds like you used 'saveas template' which you dont want
hit the 'object view' then you can save it
i believe the location is '\application data\objectview'

you have gotten me completely lost... im sorry i know im a hassle. i seriously just got this phone.....so i got the part where you do object view then save. so how from there do i get it so that i can save it and make it a ringtone persay

use the phones file manager to go to the folder '\application data\objectview' and then copy and paste it to '\my documents\ringtones or \my documents\sounds'

then go to start
settings
sounds and find the ringtone

its a folder
if you dont see it
use the right soft key to go to options and unhide your system files

even after i uncheckd that box and refreshed it did not show up

you may need to exit file manager....not sure

next thought

do you remember what you named the file?
you could (in the file manager) search for the name of the file you saved...pointing out its location
