Q9m, Wifi Card and Data Plan

I just bought a Spectec Wifi card (SDW-822-MOTO) for my Q9m (Verizon) and want to know how I can get the Wifi card to be the "preferred" connection to the Internet (so as to avoid any Data charges). I'm currently using pay-as-you-go for Data since I'd rather not add a Data block which as it would prevent receiving MMS messages.

I like the idea of being able to occaisionally surf the 'Net and check mail when travelling but do NOT want to make Verizon filthy rich by paying an additional $45 a month for the Data plan.

Is there a way to have the Q9m use the Wifi card as it's preferred connection to the Internet? I suppose I could disable the Q9m's radio but would hope there is a way to simply have it avoid the Data connection totally.

They changed the data pricing for the 9m. Its $29.99 now

Not according to the 2 months data charges I just had reversed; $44.99 per month as of yesterday... and even that is too expensive for me. I pay enough for the dang phone use, I'm not gonna make Verizon richer paying for something I don't use that often.

You need to call them and ask about the price change.
