Problems With E-Mail - Motorola Q Forum

I've got my Q set up to receive e-mails from my GMail account, and it sends/receives them just fine. However, as soon as I read an e-mail it automatically gets deleted. Is there a reason that happens and is there a way to make it stop happening?

Are you using POP3 or IMAP settings? Try the IMAP settings. Instructions are on the Gmail website.

I am using POP3. Could that be the problem? I'll give you suggestion a try though...

IMAP is also better because you can sync folders.

Oh? How do you do that?

By the way, I set up a Gmail as an IMAP account and it's working perfectly...thanks!

You're welcome.

To sync folders, open up your Gmail inbox on your Q and go to menu-->folders, then menu-->manage folders. Then you can choose which folders you want to sync. If you want to see the emails you send from your Q, be sure to sync the folder named "Sent Mail" (as opposed to the default "Sent Items" folder), and if you want to see the emails you delete, be sure to sync the folder named "Trash" (as opposed to the default "Deleted Items" folder).

How do I add my hotmail account to my email accounts. I purchased Pocket MSN from Microsoft & had it on my Q. I did not save the and had to perform a hard reset, resulting in losing the program. I can find anywhere on the net where to get the program again... it's very frustrating.

Can you not download it from where you got it the first time? Maybe someone here will have the CAB for you. I have the CAB for Windows Live on my apps page, but the version I have does not have MSN Messenger (though it will allow you to put your Hotmail back on your Q). Don't know if that's a dealbreaker for you.

The Microsoft website I ot it before has changed. Now it says I can purchase it from Handango, messanger is not a deal braker... I rarely use it. Ill have a look @ your cab, thanks
