Music or Audio Please explain GPS to me...

First off, let me say I know nothing about how GPS software and hardware work. But I want to.

I have a Q9m, along with the Windows Live Search application. I went through and set my gps location to on (start>settings>phone settings>network>gps location on).

So how do I enable WLS to see my location without paying VZW $10/mo for VZnavigator?

Does the 9m even have the hardware necessary to get the GPS working with WLS? From what I've read, the 9c has it, and that the only difference between the two is the software (and colors).

The Q9m has the same hardware as the Q9c. I think that maybe it was deactivated (or not implemented)

I would want to see where I am when I'm in a location that I'm unfamiliar with and need directions to get to a specific location. I thought that was the whole point of having GPS.

Utilizing GPS with WLS or googlemaps is illegal? I don't necessarily need the directions to be spoken.
