Yes, I'm wanting "internet" gps.

What confuses me the most is that I'm hearing the hardware between the 9m and the 9c is the same, so in theory I should be able to download software to make it work the same.

if it's the same as Sprint's Q9c; you would be able to do it without either Internet or an external GPS, if you use a program like Garmin mobile XT.
