Default New to the Q

So today I just got a Q9m. This is my first smartphone. I am a 20 year old college student. So I have been playing around with it and I would like to know if there is anything I must/should do or know. I already got rid of the terrible Verizon home screen and loaded my music on it.

I'm interested in getting a case/screen protector, but NO belt clip or such. I just want to keep the screen and camera protected and maybe help it if it gets dropped a short distance.

Lastly Motorola claims this device will be able to read micro SD cards up to 32GB, yet specs only say 4GB. What have you guys figured out about that?

Thanks in advance and looking forward to talking to you all.

Search and you can find the answer to all of these questions.

Check out the Accessories forum for info on cases/screen protectors;

Check out the Favorite Apps thread in the Software forum for an idea of what software ppl are using. A few of us (me, rudeboy, n99hockey, Big-D, to name a few) have links to apps pages in our signatures if you want to try different software out;

Also check out the Q9m Hacks Sticky in the Hacks forum if you want to mod your Q a bit.

Your Q9m will work with SDHC cards up to 32 GB. Several pppl here are using 6 and 8 GB cards.

Well I actually will not be using data at all. I actually would like to disable it so that it will use my wifi card or not connect at all. I'm sure I'll need to edit the registry or talk to verizon about that one.

Thanks again guys for the help! I've been really impressed with the Q9m. It seemed slow out of the box but once I updated it, it speeds along now.

if you have updated your Q then check out this link for a memory card biggest avail and $30 for 8Gb isn't too bad. Until I can find a bigger card online this is the most bang for your buck.
