new tgetfile application?

i was busy playing FF3 this evening and kinda got tired of seeing the same *warning this is a trial version* pop up. Anywho getting to my point is this the newer version of the tgetfile for the pocketnester? I guess im looking for something up to date.

I know this doesn't really answer your question since I don't have an answer for you but I will throw this out there.

Have you tried SmartGear, another emulator? It does not use tgetfile at all. "It currently emulates GameBoy Color, NES, GameGear, MasterSystem, TurboGrafx-16, and Genesis/MegaDrive." I got my Q9m a couple weeks ago and had pocketnester on it for the first week or so. Then I found SmartGear.

I thought pocketnester wasn't bad but got this for the other systems. However I found that most NES roms that don't work right on PocketNester work fine on this so I no longer use pocketnester.

Their are a couple downsides. First is that it costs $10 to register it, but well worth it IMO. Before you register you have all features, but are limited to 2 minutes of playtime at a time.

Secondly it is tricky to get working right on your phone but luckily you can make sure you are happy with it before you register. That is I found the newest version to have control issues with the Q9m. Apparently the newest version has some "control fix" for some phones but it screws up SmartGear on the Q9m. Specifically buttons get stuck. So I'll press right, let go and right will be stuck until I press it again making games unplayable.

Luckily I got the previous version and it works aside from one minor glitch. For some reason in this version when I try to set my controls It will almost instantly assign the key to a certain key. I found that I could not change the direction controls, but that doesn't really matter. Fortunately I could change the rest of the buttons as long I pressed the button right after I pressed Enter. But after getting the buttons set the first time I'm quite happy with SmartGear.

Lastly, I have not been able to get the sound to work right for Sega Genesis games on my phone but the sound seems to play ok for all other systems.
