Question Motorola Q9m Firmware Upgrade Question

I am relatively new to this arena. I have a Motorola Q9M with firmware NL-BP_C_03.20.0EP currently installed. This Q9M was originally a Verizon phone, but has been flashed with a Cricket PRL and is currently active. My question is should I update the phone with the newer motorola firmware NL-BP_C_03.20.29P? Or will this destroy the Cricket PRL conversion. Thanks.

That I would actually ask in a forum relating to cricket, I haven't seen anyone here use it, but I haven't been around too long. The new firmware is definitely worth it though. It will make your phone zoom and battery life is better as well.

Thanks for the response. I have been reading and it does appear that everything will be erased. However, I am still not sure about the Cricket PRL that has been loaded on this phone. Obviously, I would back up everything first. I will navigate to the cricket section and discuss it there.

when i upgraded the firmware, everything was infact erased (on verizon) and backup software would not restore because it said it was a different operating system. Good luck.

Smile Update

I have upgraded the firmware to .29 and all is well so far. I had nothing really to keep by way of apps (new phone). Programmed Internet and MMS following the instructions. All is well for now...I will be installing apps and games. I have an 8 gig SDHC card. Thanks everyone.

I purchased mine about two months ago & it came with 30.20.0. Then updated about one month ago to 3.20.29.

When I updated the firmware it erased everything. From contacts, to apps, to home screens.
