Question Help! My Q9m *says* that it is synching, but *isn't*!

Hello-

I just purchased a Q 9m, and one of the big selling points to me was being able to synch with my Outlook contacts on my pc. Here are the details of how I hooked up.

I told it not to go directly to the exchange server, but rather to get what it synchs from my computer. Other than synching contacts, I am using the phone right now as a normal phone and don't want to get charges for data.

I tell it to synch contacts, and nothing else.

The active sync (I have version 4.5.0) gets to a point where it says it is synchronizing my contacts. It clearly *sees* the contacts, because it displays 0/283 - but instead of then going to 1/283 and up, it skips straight from 0/283 to synchronized! But when I check my phone, there are no contacts there.

Any ideas?

delete the partnership and sync again

I've tried deleting the partnership and re-synching about 5 times. It always does the same thing. I should mention that my outlook is 2007. It would make more sense to me if the phone didn't actually see the contacts, but it clearly sees them, it's just not synching them.

I also tried running office diagnostics on outlook (the 2007 version of 'detect and repair') to no avail.

Try unchecking the advanced networking functionality and sync again.

If that doesn't work.. then uninstall Microsoft WORKS.. not WORD. Then try to sync.
You can verify if WORKS is causing the issue by going to the Temp folder on your PC. Start - Run - %temp% - click OK
Now i'm not sure which activesync log to check.. but there are 3 text files that start with WCES and another one is activesync. Open one by one and see if anyone of them contains the word "WORKSContacts" or WorksAppointment" If its there.. then uninstall microsoft WORKS.
