Thanks for putting the link up.
Only problem I had was databases. Master resetting the phone and restoring programs one at a time has really made the firmware upgrade worth it.
My battery is not draining as fast. Phone was lagging at times with some programs but seems to be working faster now.

I emailed the moderators and ask them to make this thread a sticky.

I was not going to upgrade to the new firmware because I don't need any of those enhancements (never use Vcast for instance). But, if it'll make my phone faster...

Better battery life. Even though its not listed, I am getting great battery life.

Ok maybe I'm too new to have experienced this, but yesterday I ran into a problem that brought back the frustration that I felt while owning a Nextel i860. I wanted to throw my phone out the window while I was driving. The phone got laggy. It had been about 24 hours since it's last reboot, so I powered it off, then back on. Took it 10 minutes to come up. sat on the Windows mobile screen. Mind you, I'm supposed to be on a phone interview right then. Finally it comes up and as is the norm, starts up locked. I hit unlock... nothing happens. Hit it again, nothing happens. Hit it about 5 more times, then finally, it comes up and asks me for my password. At this point I'm 10 minutes late into calling to my interview and getting frustrated. Figured I'd just get the call done then worry about the pile of rubble that was in my hand. boy was I wrong. The phone wouldn't do anything. Everything just took 5 minutes to do. Afraid that another restart would take another 10 minutes I tried to fight through it. After another 10 minutes of waiting for literally anything to happen, I pull the battery since it won't even respond to my power button. It comes back up though a little slow (took about 2 minutes to start). I call in and am informed that I'll have to wait till tomorrow as there isn't enough time to finish the interview before he has to go to a meeting... Thoroughly pissed, I almost toss the phone out the window. I get home, and everything is working fine, so I just progress with my evening. About 3 hours later I'm texting a girl friend of mine and poof it starts doing the same thing. Everything takes about 10 minutes to do anything. Restart the thing and it is still slow. Takes me 45 minutes to get to the reset function inside of system tools, then it takes 25 minutes to reset itself. Finally after a reset it's ran for about 12 hours without any problems. I had already disabled the text option mentioned in this thread prior to the phone going haywire. Is this common? I don't want to deal with this anymore. I'm still within my 30 days and can return the phone. I love the phone outside of the fact that I've already replaced it twice in the first 3 weeks and now this is starting to happen.

Motorola has definitely shipped some lemons, so you may have gotten one. Your best bet might be just to get a new phone. You are within your warrantee period. But, first you might want to try clearing the history text history just to be safe and install the firmware upgrade.

Also, keep in mind that this fix will not work if you are running some third party program that crashes your phone.

My phone was doing exactly the same things that you have described before I tried this fix. Since clearing my history, I have not done a single soft or hard reset (going on about 1.5 wks now; use to do at least one per day).

Cool! Let us know what they tell you. If my original post is a bit long-winded, we can post a new, short one with just the fix.
