Default Firmware Questions?

Ive read almost everything on the Q9m out there, and despite all the negative stuff, i plan to buy one(since i didnt win! congratz to the dude that did!). plus its gotten a lot cheaper! so here is my questions--

-Do newly purchased Q9m come updated? if not,
-Should update the firmware straight out of the box?
-What pros and cons are there?
-Can i go to a verizon store to update or is it strictly online?

Anything else anyone wants to tell me about the Q9m will be great appreciated! -Much Mahalo's

bought my Q9m three weeks ago and it was not updated. I would recommend going to motorola's site and download there software updater even though the verizon store can upgrade it for you, I don't trust there employees.

The only cons with my phone is it needs to be charged once a day other than that it is exactly what I wanted. I have been most impressed by the external speakers! I have yet to boost their volume beyond spec. but they are beasts. Basically loud enough to hear without much distortion in a moderate noise environment (large open room with some above speaking volume noise).

Other than that just buy a big micro SD card, I got my 8 GB for $40 on ebay.

Enjoy and come back to find out anything else you'd like to know.

As long as you don't sit on the internet, the battery will last longer than a day.

Do they use a micro SD or a Mini SD like the Q1?

yes, the Q9m (Q9c as well) uses a mini SD. I use a micro SD with an adapter so I don't have to buy a new card for my next phone, since everything seems to be going micro...
