Default Data usage....

Hi peoples..... first timer, here. Just got my 9m yesterday. Not so sure I like it yet.

"Q"uestion..... I can't seem to find two things:

1> How can I turn off the data Tx without shutting down all power?

2> How do I view the total Data usage for the current month?

Thank you everyone...

1. If you don't want to use any data at all, you should ask Verizon to put a data block on your phone. There was also a hack posted a while back for making your Q prompt you for a password for data transfer. Btw, which icon is popping up that concerns you? If it's the two arrows on the signal indicator, that does not indicate data transfer, only that your Q is ready to transfer data. There is no actual data transfer unless the PDA symbol pops up.

2. You can check your account usage at Verizon's website. I don't recall if there is anything tracking that usage on the Q.

Default Thank you, Rainmaker....

Yes, it is the 2 arrows, but when viewing the Web I don't see the PDA icon that you are referring to. Can you point me to it and what it looks like?

Also, with all those cool apps installed, doesn't it make your Q real slow (or doesn't it matter at all if you've got them "turned off" when you don't need them)?

Thanks again!

Susie(Que)

PS - I'm outta here for now so I probably wont see your reply for a few hours. You're a doll!

It looks like a little calculator - it'll popup right beside the EVDo symbol on your icon bar where the crosshairs normally are.

As for applications, I tend to close out apps when I'm done using them, so there haven't been any performance issues.
