data mms question verizon

i've got a verizon q9m and currently have unlimited data and also unlimited txt msgs plus 500 additional. I want to get rid of the data plan for a couple months, but have a question: do pix/flix msgs count as data usage or as part of the msg count? I used to have a pocket pc and pix msg required data plan so I wondered if the q9m is the same.

thanks rudeboy...not sure how I missed that thread but looks like my answer is pix and flix do not use data. so i'll cancel my data and find out I guess.

When I still had my LG9900, right before I got my Q9m I got nailed hard with Data usage charges for pics sent by MMS to Photobucket and Flickr. I had never been hit with them before but the bill I got was ginormous. I called and raised some hell. They took the charges off my bill but told me that it was part of the deal with them. This was the beginning-middle of last year so I don't know if things have changed by now or not.

It does use data! But not that much....like 2 or 3kb per picture message...sometimes even less than 1kb. I don't get how they determine it but I get charged all the time for KB usage....I do send Pix/Flix message. And do not use the internet...I hacked it to require a password.

However, like brandajos said above, this past December...I got hit with a large bill that charged me for the exact file size of each pix/flix message. Raised hell...got it removed.
