Default Create new text message shortcut?

I have "Messaging" as my right hand shortcut button, but it just opens to messaging. I then have to select Text message/Menu/New to be able to start a message. Is there a way to change that button to go directly to the blank text message screen???

yes, it is possible, i did the same exact thing.

on your computer, create a txt file with the contents

20#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to "" -body ""

then rename the file to something like "New SMS.lnk"

copy that file onto the q. i cant remember the exact location at the moment, but you want to put it where the other shortcuts are, and then you can select it as an option for the right button.

You guys ROCK. While my goal wasn't to make it a softkey but rather to simply go to a new SMS w/o going through messages=>text messages=>new, but simply to create a shortcut....you guys (and/or gals) are studs (and/or whatever the female equivalent might be).

THX!
