I'm a new user of the Motorola Q 9m, so please pardon me if this question has been asked millions of times . Is there a way to change the contact list so the first name is first, and not the last?

Look for contact changer. One of the Moderators, Rudeboy, has it on his apps page (click on the link in his signature)
