Backing up only my contacts. (wireless sync)

I have yet to use wireless sync. When your contacts are backed up using this are they - or can they be - placed on a verizonwireless website? Or are they placed on your own PC in software? This question make sense? Back in the olden days (2 weeks ago hehe..) I used "backup assistant" which would once a day sync my LG phone contacts to the verizonwireless website.

I guess further to this is how much more is wireless sync going to want to do with my phone? I currently have all my emails set up the way I like - and I only really want to be backing up my contacts at this point.

I hope you'll all bare with me. I am obviously new to the Q but I only can only search so far before I just want to ask someone a direct question, no matter how simple it it may seem. Thanks all.

You can configure Wireless Sync to sync only contacts -- they will be placed on the Wireless Sync server. You can use the WS Web client to access them on the WS sever. This is assuming you do not use the PC client redirector.
