9m Signal Strength Indicator Question

I live in a fringe area and use a signal booster which works quite well but I have noticed that even with that I never see over 4 bars of signal. So I drove over to the tower and there also the signal indicator never went above 4 bars.

So my question for you 9m owners is: Do you ever see 5 bars?

I don't seem to have any problems with reception and only once has a call gone directly to voice mail but that might have been when I was checking email. I got a feeling that the signal indicator has little bearing on reception as I have placed and received calls with no bars showing.

do those signal boosters actually work?? i thought they were all just a marketing scheme

i think only ATT/Cingular makes it seem there is a 5th bar

yeah as part of their more bars in more places marketing LOL.
I only get around 2-3 bars in my house with this phone, as opposed to other models, but still able to make clear calls.

I used the Wireless Extenders Cell Phone Signal Booster - Dual Band YX510 PCS/CEL model and it works fine for me and covers about two rooms in our house. This model works for both ATT&T and T-Mobile and Verizon.
