How do I get it to stop automatically checking for messages? I can't find that setting anywhere.

go through all the settings, it's one of the last screens in the Pocket Outlook account settings.

Can you only set that the first time you set up your mail? I know where you are talking about, but I can't seem to get back into those settings.

yup... well, you can (should be able to) change it by going through all the screens again. (i know it's far from ideal, but it's not like it needs to be changed on a regular basis)

Another question, I wasn't able to get my work e-mail set up and now there is always an outlook shortcut in the messages area. How can I remove that shortcut?

highlight any account > Select > Menu > Options > D Account Options > Center chrome key > highlight the account > Menu > Delete...

It must have bc, I don't see it as an option. I can't remove outlook from the remove programs list either. Any other ideas?

Outlook can't be removed since it's in rom but i would think you should be able to remove a account for what ever reason, let's wait for a Q9'er in chime in..
