I'm talking about around six texts sent, websurfing at around 5 to 10 minutes a session for a total of around 35 -45 minutes and about the same total time for instant messenging.
Texting is not on vibrate and I had Imap/email set to check the server every 2 hrs. Smartphone popups, Vito copy paste and Photo contacts pro are the apps that are always running. If that's being a heavy user then I guess I over-reacted with the battery life.

Well, you're on the internet one way or another for about an hour and a half, which tanks your battery life quite a bit, continuously being connected and sending and receiving data. So its not uncommon to lose a bar or so. Think about it. A phone call that lasted an hour and a half would eat up a bar for sure. I think its a little on the slim side, but thats how batteries interact. It also depends HEAVILY on coverage. The bettter the coverage, the better the battery life.

I am sad to say that my wait for the 6.1 upgrade has resulted in a 16GB iphone. Goodbye everyone

...and I believe that is exactly the reason why ATT is waiting to release the update...

And say goodbye to being able to run multiple 3rd party apps - as in everything the app store has to offer - at the same time.
That and the keyboard are the reasons I stayed away from the iphone as much as I admire it.

That is exactly why we don't have the update yet.

PS: Say goodbye to changing your battery, turn-by-turn directions, microsd memory slot, and you won't be able to copy and paste.

Edit: Apple also charges you $100 for an extra 8 GB of memory (8 to 16). You can pickup an 8 GB memory card for about $30 from Frys.

I was thinking of lining up at the Apple store for next July's (2009) release of an iPhone with A2DP BT, MMS as well as removable HCSD and removable battery. Why use those features today when we can wait & hope for another year?

Good points! I forgot about MMS, probably because I don't use it, but many people do!
