Windows Live stop working for you? - Motorola Q Forum

I have the seperate install of Windows Live, and it worked great until last week when I noticed that my emails stopped connecting. Messenger still works fine though.

I can't get the sync schedule to work with that separate install of Live.

I don't want to admit it...but mine is not syncing either. Not going to lose hope yet! Their servers have been down before!

mine just went to hell today...btw.

Mine syncs okay (I just checked to make sure), it is just that I always have to perform a manual sync, no matter what settings I try in the sync schedule. I remember when I initially got my phone and was trying sync Exchange, it wouldn't sync no matter what. Finally, after a master clear, it started synching. I wonder if you'll have to do that for Windows Live?

yea..mine wouldn't sync manual either..errored!

BUT, I forgot what happened last time and its working again...wheeew!! I had an email on the server that needed "Mark as Safe". Fixed that again and all is good! I wish I could do that via the Q though...

I've always had my sync settings set for "As items arrive" and "Always" and never had a problem. It syncs when a mail arrives (push), I send mail or if there is no mail activity it will do a random sync once or twice a day.

I recall reading on a Blackberry forum that MS shut down all but the premium Hotmail accounts ($20/year) from being accessed via POP3 or IMAP.

That was for all new accounts with Hotmail going forward. If you were already using pop/imap, then you can continue to use it.

FYI, mine manual sync stopped working consistenly last night. Same problem as the other posters. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I don't know if it was just a coincidence or not, but I got the sync working again by re-adding the Hotmail account. I did this by going to New E-Mail Account and adding the Hotmail account as if it didn't exist. After that, emails were syncing again.
