Default Water dunked in phone, everything works except for the end button

So basically i dropped my phone in a sink full of water. I took it out imediately then took out the battery and let it sit for about 8 hours. I used a hair dryer at a distance on low heat a few times throughout the day. When i turned it on, the battery kept showing up as an x, even after it was on for about 20 min. I used my extended battery and it showed up fine and i left that one in there for about an hour. I put my regular battery back in and now that one shows up as well. Everything that i've used so far (i've had it on for about 16 hours) has worked fine except for the end call button. At first i was thinking, i can live with only one button not working. Until i just made a phone call, but had no way of ending it. Even if you hit the right softkey for menu, theres no end call option.

Long story short, phone got dropped in water, now end call key won't work, but everything else is fine. Any ideas on how to fix it?

try a master reset, see if that works.

if that doesn't work i doubt there's going to be a fix for your Q after dropping in water.

sorry it happened though.

It's possible that there still may be some water in the key. Try putting the phone in a ziploc bag with some rice, or dessicant packets. I know of some other ways to drive water out but they are much more extreme (kind of a last resort)

What exactly is a master reset?

If all else fails, i can wait til tuesday. I have a class with a dude who works for motorola. Forgot exactly what he does, but he does always show up with new phones that haven't been releases. Maybe he'll know a fix or something.

a master reset is when the device is set back to the factory defaults
meaning all data and programs are wiped clean and only the apps that were installed when you got the phone are reinstalled

if you do decided to do this please back up the phone
