fwiw, i agree that it would be easier, more polite, and take less energy to simply answer queries than to not answer and direct someone to search ... but that's life on the forums these days. |
Thanks alo schlieph, really appreciate the help.have a nice day |

| Obviously you DIDN'T, or you don't know how to read. Since you responded to my post, I'll assume the former. Well, not assume, I will prove it to you. Using that beautiful little search button, I typed in two different strings. The first was unread message alert. And the second was unread text.
The 7th topic down from the bottom, was labeled, "How to get an unread text/voicemail..." That MIGHT have been what you were looking for. You sure you did a search on THIS forum ???? And in reality, it would have been the 6th one down had you searched and not created a thread. Yours is now at the top =)
I apologize to everyone, but I can't stand people who say, "I searched", and couldn't find an answer. 90% of the time, its just not true. People are too lazy to actually LOOK through threads, and they end up creating one for something that has been answered, and then it just becomes HARDER in the end to look through them, because of the sheer number of threads.
I guess the reason I wrote that original post and this one was because I spent about an hour looking through this forum for something, and I was just bombarded with all kinds of threads, many that answered the same things over and over. I feel bad for the mods after my search last night.

| Speaking of which mods, isn't there some way you can close threads, or group them together, or at least not have them show up in searches if its redundant ???? I know you have in some threads, I just wonder why I don't see it more often. I figure it must be hard to keep up eh ???? |

| the good aspect of "merging" similar posts would be less of the same threads... on the flip side having similar threads might help people finding them, but that only happens if in fact they search (which like you i sometimes doubt..)
i am still somewhat baffled by the attitude some display..

| I have that as well, but it's a one time alert.I think the OP was looking for something a little more persistant, which would be the unread message alert (if it's available). But thank you for trying to help (I am being serious, I love helpful people) |

| My Q9c only gives me the alert one time. I think the sound guy for the research and development team must have been sick the day they discussed repeating alerts..... |
