im pretty sure you cant. It's really just to let you know that if you're sending a text to a regular cell phone, they'll get it in 2 messages instead of one.

there's nothing you can do because the bottleneck is the messaging infrastructure. EMS was evolved to resolve this gap but it didn't pick off. Some phones have the ability to 'merge' two SMS together. plus anything longer, email is a preferred choice since people are getting more mobile these days.

Not sure what you mean... when I send text messages it has that little counter at the bottom and I go over the 160, it changes the counter at the bottom to say something like (2 msgs) or something like that... so when it sends it actually does break it up into the 2 separate msgs to my receiver.

If you have AT&T, it absolutely does not. If you have Verizon however, it will. So anytime a message goes over 160, it will automatically split it into 2 messages. Whether sending or receiving. AT&T does not do this, either sending or receiving.

well I don't know... maybe I'm just special like that... but for me it works. i can write out a txt msg (longer than 160) and my phone tells me how many msgs it will be, whether it's 2, or 3 msgs, and it breaks it up when it sends it and my receivers get my full message in however many parts it is.

and yes, i have at&t
