Default Synching with Exchange 2003 SP2

I am having serious issues with synching with our exchange server. We run exchange 2003 SP2 and the OWA address is https://mail.paceadjuster.com. I have the OWA and OMA working great. I do not get an invalid cert error when I use IE7 on my computer, but I get the error when I access it from the Q9H.

The certificate on the server is one that was issued from Equifax. I have saved the cert from IE7 and installed in into the phone. The phone shows Equifax in the Root Cert section and it shows the equifax certificate for mail.paceadjuster.com in the intermediate section.

Any ideas? Thanks,

David

I'm not sure. I'm using the same setup and I did not have to install any certs on my phone to get to sync with Exchange 2003 at the office. The only problem I had was that Active Sync doesn't play well when you have your Exchange server redirect http to https. Microsoft had a TID on that though. What is the error you're getting?

The error I am getting is 0x80072F0D. We do have http://mail.paceadjuster.com forwarded to https://mail.paceadjuster.com. Am I correct in thinking that when I have the box checked that says "This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection" that is tries to go to port 443 and not 80? That should keep the forward from interfering (I would think). I can configure anything that is needed as I am the person in charge of the servers.

I beleive it is the http redirect that is causing problems. I was stuck on that for days when I setup our system. I'll try to locate the microsoft kb article and post the link here when I return to work next week.

That would be great. I will look for it as well, but do post it if you can locate it.

The error ur getting is related to certificates.

look at my site.. igotaq.googlepages.com for a utility to make a cab file of ur certs.

basically, u need to export all of your cert in the certification path and install them ALL on your phone.

I should only need to install the pretenant ones correct? I should not need to install any that have nothing to do with the topic at hand right?

I installed the equifax certificates (the CA1 cert as that is what our certificate is referencing) using the .cab tool that you provided and that did not change anything. I am still getting the same issue.

Take a look here

If its a server issue then.. Look here for settings for SBS or Single Server setup:

I still don't understand why you had to export any certs, but hey, if it worked then that is all that matters. I didn't do that at all. My issue was because I had http automatically redirected to https for my webmail. This affected the ability to sync over the air with active sync. It took me days to figure it out, but basically this is what I had to do in order to get it to work:
