Default Sync and push e-mail

I just received my new Q 9h Global from the ATT store two days ago. Since the people at the store didn't know anything (they couldn't even give me the parameters to set up the push e-mail), I set up the phone on my own. My problem is that I now have a messaging box for my sync'd e-mail (outlook POP3 with att) and I have another box that I set up to have the same e-mail pushed to my Q. I get the same e-mails in both and when I answer them on either the Q or the e-mail they do not drop off the other so I must manually mark them as being read.

Any ideas on how I fix this?

so what is the point of the pop account if you have it being pushed to the phone?

the phone sees it as a separate account so its not going to mark them read

It depends on how I need to reply. Some items I might want to reply from my computer (i.e. longer typing, attachments), others I can answer quickly with a short message

I agree, but that is my problem. I show it once on the phone as # 2 Outlook E-mail (the sync'd e-mail) and also as #3 AT&T (the pushed e-mail). I think I should only have it once but I don't know how to combine it. Do I somehow change the Outlook E-mail (sync'd) account to have the parameters of the AT&T (Pushed e-mail)?

ok how your describing it isnt making sense

first you said outlook push email which is using the outlook email account on the Q now you said sync'd email meaning syncing with active sync

and your att email which is not a push but you said a pop account

so if i understand this correctly you get email on the phone with the pop account (att) and you sync email with the outlook account and active sync? correct?

if that is in fact the case you dont have push email but a pop account which was confusing me since you described it differently

if you dont have an exchange account the 'outlook' account with only be there to show email you sync with the pc...you cant actually send email from the outlook account and have it go anywhere if you dont have an exchange or push type account running it...so its kind of an after the fact thing...
but if you have your pop account that is how you get email on the phone and send email on the phone

Let me see if I can make more sense of this for everyone.

My ISP is ATT. This is where my e-mail address is that I receive on my computer. It is sync'd with my Q and shows up on my messaging screen as # 2 "Outlook E-mail".

My cellular company is ATT. I set up my e-mail to be pushed automatically to my Q. It shows up on my messaging screen as #3 "ATT".

Both of these are getting the same messages. If I delete # 2, as was suggested, I will never be able to have anything that I've answered in #3 offset my e-mail on my computer and I won't be able to have anything I answer on my computer show that it was answered and not show up on the Q.

Basically I need one messaging option that is pushed there, but which also sync's with my Q.

By the way, thanks for helping me through this. I appreciate it.

I've spoke with ATT and they indicated that I would need a Blackberry bolt on ($15/mo) to enable bidirectional communication to update the server. This would enable me the system to know that I responded to the message. Otherwise there is now way to know that a response was made.

have an email synced to my Q via M$ exchange (over the air) and any changes I make on the Q are reflected in the exchange account.
