| Sending text messages to new 9h? I'm getting a replacement Q 9h from ATT, and I don't want to lose my thousands of text messages when I switch my stuff over. Besides copying them to the SIM (which will take me 4 days straight to get through all of them individually), is there someway of finding the texts in the ActiveSync to copy them to my computer? Or a hack to do it? You cant transfer them with Bluetooth right?
Any help would be appreciated, I know I shouldve copied them to my SIM when I first got the messages, but I can't do that now.
Edit: actually, I was able to make an archive of my messages using Sprite Archive. I've read the user manual, but I can't figure something out. How do I then change back the xml file into sms messages on my phone?

I must be old, because I can't figure out why anyone would want to keep thousands (!) of texts on their phone! PC maybe, so that is why Dashwire is perfect. Doesn't that many texts eat up memory & slow down the phone?? |

some people like to keep records (blackmail purposes, break up reasons, job crap)
and dashwire is perfect if you dont want them on the device or need a copy on a pc (although im sure they will get to that eventually)
and yes 1000's will definately slow your device down...but some people just gotta have them i guess |

| Thousands was really an exaggeration, but I do have plenty that I would like to keep (call me sentimental.) A pc copy is fine, but I really would rather have them on my phone 0:-). When I get my new phone, even if it takes forever, I can just forward them to myself, right? I guess its a last resort if there isn't a third party program out there.
Actually, that won't work either, when I forward to myself it doesn't show who it was from. This is incredibly frustrating.
Another thought, I guess I could put a few messages at a time on my SIM, and just keep transferring back and forth by copying them to the phone on my new one. That could work right?

I'm sorry, didn't understand that Jeyo did that, thought it was only for backup. But its a fantastic program, thank you! |
