Ringtones on Both Device and SD

Is there a way for Ringtones to be accessable from both the Device and SD Card?

yup... default place on device, and in the root of the storage card.

yes
put the tones in the root directory of the SD card (not in any folders) and you will be able to pick it as a tone
on the phone put them in \my documents\ringtones

also make sure your tones are less than 300kb otherwise you will have to do a reg hack to make it recognize bigger files

Tried adding Rings to the root of the SD yesterday but it didn't seem to work. Is a restart of the device necessary?

Below is what I did:

Connected with via ActiveSync
Located the SD
Copied the files to the card outside any folders.

Correct???

try 2 things

1. make sure they are less than 300kb
2. open up WMP and update your library

I put my files in my "my ringtones" folder, and it didn't work. I did the reg hack, but most are under 300kb anyway. They only work when in the "my documents" folder. This is my experience with the Q9h.
