The camera.exe resides in ROM
If some some reason you deleted the copy by accident,
you can always get another copy from ROM since it is not really deleted.

I think that the OP is saying that the registry key thatpoints to camera.exe is bank. Odds are, camera.exe i still on te phon; however the registy isn't tlling the phone where to look for it.

I have a Q1, and I believe the location on my phone i \Windows\camera.exe

It ould be different on the 9H, but I would try setting the registry key before performing a MR.

If anyone else has a 9h, an knows for sure the location of camera.exe that might help out.

Good luck to ya.

No need for a master reset.
sync the phone and open system tools.
You are only allowed to do a copy from there.
Create a copy of the camera.exe and move it where ever you need it.

How to remove files from a Windows Mobile device

Anyone who has tried to delete shortcuts or files from a Windows Mobile device, knows the frustration of constant "Access Denied" or "You do not have the necessary permissions" messages. Below is a pretty simple way that I have found to get around these permissions, by using a tool called EnableRAPI.
  1. Download EnableRAPI and extract all files from the zip archive.
  2. Double click on EnableRAPI.bat and leave the DOS window it launches open
  3. Open Folder Options and choose to "Show hidden files and folders" and de-select the "Hide protected operating system files" option.
On Windows XP, this would be done by launching Windows Explorer and clicking on Tools --> Folder Options and then the View tab.
On Windows Vista, this would be done by going to Folder Options from the Control Panel and then clicking on the View tab.
  4. Connect your device to your PC using ActiveSync (Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows Vista).
  5. Browse the device's file system using the File Manager tool in ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center.
  6. When you have finished making all of your modifications, close the EnableRAPI DOS window.

If you're sure that that is the file name (camera.exe). Then just fill in the path in the blank space accordingly. So for example, if camera.exe is in the windows folder, you would use the file path: \windows\camera.exe

Just out of curiosity, could you tell me where it is in the registry?

I looked at the porperties for the camera in my start menu and the file is actually called pimg.exe, (Q9h)

So in the registry type in \windows\pimg.exe

And could you post where that registry is? I can't find it. Just curios, in case mine goes bad too.
