Default Reassign shortcut buttons?

Is there a way to reassign a hardware button (ex: calender button on keyboard) to open a different program? THANX!

Via registry editor change the string values for the keys
HKCU\ControlPanel\keybd\APPX_Path,
where X is a number

To be more specific I want to have the calender button open Payrus instead of the system calender. Do you know what number I would change "X" to, to accomplish this? THANX!

Yes, all I found were posts on the "hardware buttons stopped working". If you tell me the exact "phrase" that provides the post(s) with the solution I'll be happy to search again.

For future reference, you might get a much quicker response if you post questions about hack in the hack section of this forum.
  1. Go to HKEY_Current_User/Control Panel/Keybd
  2. Find the value APP4_Path
  3. Change the data from \windows\calendar.exe to the path of the app that opens up the program you are trying to change
