Default Q9h's earphones and Music: volume too low?

It happens that I started to use my WM6.1 Q9h's earphones for listening to the music, but the volume is just ashamingly low. Even with the audio settings maxed out (system volume, wmp/coreplayer volume) the sound I get is much much quieter than I was getting with my previous phone, an HTC Startrek (even without the maxed volumes on the HTC).

Is it quasi-normal, i.e. does WM6.0 have this low volume issue too, or is it a glitch in the WM6.1 update?

many thanks in advance...

Try pushing IN on the side scroll wheel until volume bar pops up. Scroll UP.

The Q9h doesn't have a scroll wheel. Why reply if you don't bother to see what kind of device the OP is asking about?

I agree that the music volume is low when maxed out. It was pretty easy to SEEM edit Motorola V-series phones to increase the volume but I haven't seen a way to increase the volume on the Q9h.

I already did that when I said I maxed out the system volume. Earpiece volume is fine and loudspeaker volume is OUTSTANDING, but earphone volume is crap.

I think it isn't just a matter of volume. Earphones have their part too - with that "feather" (sry I'm not english and I cant' find a better term) that hinders the sound pressure you feel in the ear. Music just sounds "old" and Wow-less, when compared to other phones that have PC-like sound output quality.

I think there must be some registry values to change to achieve this.
Anyway do you know if a converter from the Q9h plug to a normal 3.5'' jack plug exists?

There is...it ships in the box with the AT&T-branded Q9h. It's a microUSB to 3.5" headset adapter. Like this one: http://store.everythingq.com/motorol...12A45A3533.htm

Ahhhh... i love how we europeans get the same phone model for the same price, but our one unexplicably misses GPS, a larger battery, and this useful dongle. How smart!

Why so harsh? The models aren't that different that the OP couldn't figure out that the "side wheel" and "side buttons" are equivalent.

(This advice actually helps about 99% of the people who post with this kind of problem, believe it or not.)

Unfortunately it doe not help...
Have you got any advice??
(Or, at least, an acknowledgement that I'm not the only one with such an issue...)

I have a Q9h, but I haven't experienced your particular problem.

I've tried doing some searching here for you, but all I find are "problem solved" posts after pushing and holding in the side button until the volume control pops up, as Sherri mentioned. I'll keep an eye out though and if I hear of anything else I'll let you know!

(I did see something about adjusting settings in profiles, but that seemed more related to discrepancies between speaker and headset volumes.)

It's like if the phone or the earbuds equalize the sound in some way I don't know. Treble and midtones are fine, but basses definitely are amiss. Songs miss the "wow" effect and the sound doesn't fill my ear like with other earbuds. It doesn't make your ear shake when listened to at max volume. You feel like there's something missing when the song enters its "loud" part.

HTC's ones in the startrek are crap quality but sound better!

And yes I've tried all possiible combinations of the Audio enhancement settings.
