Default Q9h versions ?

Are there different versions of Q9h or Q Global out there ?

I see that some models have silver border whereas some are all black.

Is Q9h and Q global absolutely the same ?

I am searching on Ebay to buy an unlocked one, for Tmobile, for use in Chicago area. Some sellers are saying it has GPS where some are saying it does not.

One site says it sells Q9h with wi-fi !!

Please advise what to look out for when buying Q9h or Q global online ?

The Q9 Global is what is marketed by ATT. It does have GPS however you naad an active data connection to download maps. I know of one person with a pre-release Q9h (usually sold for europe) and his doesn't have (working) GPS although the newer run may. They are Wi-Fi capable, but you need a Wi-Fi mini SD card to make it work.

the others you are seeing are probably the Q9m (verizon) and Q9c (sprint)

Default Q9h verisons

So I guess buying a silver border one or completely black one does not matter.

I guess I will go with an ATT unlocked version for my purpose, from ebay.

From my understanding, and I could be wrong, the black sides were an original design. The final product is the one sold.

But, I have heard that the European version is more like the traditional, all black ones. I have seen many different pics as well.

If it has GPS, its a North American version. If it has Wi-Fi, its a European version. However, there are a few early Roger's phones that apparently could do Wi-Fi and GPS at the same time, so it could be that.

If you wanna use it for T-Mobile, make sure you buy the one with the grey sides. Look on AT&T's website to compare. If you buy the American version, you can be assured you will use the correct GSM frequencies and 3G frequencies. However, since T-Mobile doesn't have a 3G network yet, who knows if they'll use the same frequencies. I haven't read about their plans for that.

Thanks. The ATT site is showing silver (grey) sided model. I will go with this model to be on safe side.

I live in Spain and own a European Q9h (unlocked). Itīs ll black, no WI-FI and no GPS.

None of the Q9s marketed here have Wi-FI or GPS.

nope, european version one (which is sold in Asia) does not have WIFI.

There's some GPS registry found in my Q9h (not AT&T one), maybe it's not been activated yet, but I am not holding my breadthe on that.

As I said before.

The Q9h sold by Rogers is equal to the Q9 Global same bands, GPS and No WiFi. It is solid Black.

Last I checked Canada is still in North America.

I have the Rogers Q9H running on T-Mobile US. IMO the all-black looks way better than AT&T's silver mods.
