q9h independent lates firmware - Motorola Q Forum

Hi, where can I get latest independent english firmware for my motorola q9h global not corrupted by any carrier(like att ant other) and not japaneese or german (many taiwan firmwares in internet).

I am just tired from att icons in menu, so where to get Independent firmware? In internet i found only SHIP_NORMAN_AP_U_01.07.37R_MODEM4_U_40.03.07R_01_U SNORMANRTIDR2W611A00C_1FF-RETAILIDS_358319009.zip but it is old.

Can anybody give me link?

First off, welcome and thanks for the post.

We have discussed this a ton in the past and I think the final conclusion we came to was that there is no "independent" firmware version for Q9h and all of them are branded in some way for someone.

I bought mine direct from Moto with no service and they still sent me the branded AT&T Q9h but it was unlocked at least. But now I am told that if they ever release the 6.1 update, it will end up locking it even though it was unlocked to begin with which I think is total bullshit. Hopefully they will account for that when they release that.

If anyone has an update on this matter, I would love to hear it but I think for all practical purposes, we have all pretty much given up on that and playing the waiting game.

There are more ROM's around, but you should exercise some caution when flashing.
The file you found looks like a lot like a "Euro" flash file. Meaning that it has only W2100 band 3G..... no go for AT&T 3G service.

There is a generic flash file also, but it has no 3G at all. It was released for MotoQ 9e.

Short answer is that there is no unbranded ROM flash file that will provide all the service connection options that AT&T offers for that this phone supports.

My software is completely unbranded and runs 3G on AT&T's network....so it does exist...

Vermsky over at MMUK thinks he got the locking part taken care of on the flash, but needs someone to verify that it actually does flash and works. I don't know anybody with T-Mo or else I would have already been the guinea pig.

So stayed tuned for that.

So, few new questions. I have bought q9h global in USA from AT&T, and got unlocked it so i have MODEM4_U_40.11.0FR . But i live in europe(ukraine) and i can not scan 3g operators here.

1. What if i will install firmware with MODEM4_U_40.0X.XXX, will it work here? I mean is it depend only from hardware or only software to use 40.11 or 40.0X modem?

2. Also q9h is offically distributed to Poland ( http://www.motorola.com/consumer/v/i...ow=productHome )
and their firmwares is not branded. So we can get unbranded firmwares from european moto. ANd what about 6.1 in unbranded firmwares? DOes anybody have friends in motorola service centers in europe?

3. If i will install not ATT firmware i will not be able to use gps any more? I heared that not att firmwares doesnt have even gps driver.

4. I still have 01.04.35R ATT unlocked firmware. If i will install new 6.1 one, it will lock again anyway?
