Default Overseas calling & data

I was wondering if I could solicit some feedback from people who have used the Q9h overseas. I see AT&T has their World Traveler program for discounted roaming rates, as well as the Data Global Plan for staying connected in something like 20 countries.

I travel to such countries as the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and possibly other Asian countries like Korea and China.

Has anyone used the 9qh in any of these countries and if so did you run into any issues in terms of being able to access voice and data services? I'm looking to break my Verizon contract and jump to AT&T for their GSM service, but I just want to make sure this device acutally does what it says it will do before I make that investment.

Thanks.

the current q9 global from att does not work in Japan. i was just there. i put my sim in a European Q9h while in Japan, worked fine. (Japan uses 2100 UMTS.).

the global worked great in India. i think i used it in Singapore as well. since i don't travel internationally that often, i just used the international roaming. i also didn't use it too much to keep the bill low. att has an international Travel Guide site that lets you select the counties you visit and it will tell you if the phone will work there both for voice and data. So doesn't work in Japan? I was under the impression it did.

I tried that AT&T international phone site but it doesn't even list the Q in the list of devices available.
