| Our own CHome Configurator thread Can we have one?? huh huh huh huh huh????
1. It seems like 9H users all get a weird error when this program is started - "Error while loading from the registry - InvalidOperationException"
Is this affecting the Chome application??
2. Is it me or are you only allowed to modify the panels with the asterisk next to them??
Thanks.

Thanks. | You should create new panels and customize them. Then hide the stock panels you don't want. |

This has been my experience exactly.
I have also put on NRG weather mini and pocket sports. Added some apps to s"settings." Added a Contacts Panel (real neat with pictures). Added an applications Launcher Panel as well. Lots of fun things to do. The Windows Mobile web site has some cool themes too. They look great with the sliding panels. |

I would suggest reading through one of the earlier CHome threads for a guide. |

| I've been creating and modifying my own test panels based on the stuff I read in the older CHome threads. But the info in those threads are so scattered that I wanted a more cohesive thread for the 9H crew.
I'm definitely gonna be looking for nice glossy icons for my panels. |

Also, if theres an app, link it, attach it, or let people know what to search for. |

| Slider | Panel | Pages | Cool! I've been fiddling with CHome and the Sliders for a bit and thought I'd share the following info which would help in understanding how CHome Configurator works.
The 'Slider' is mechanism in which the Panels are made to 'slide' up or down. Panel is each of the rectangles which scroll/slide up or down.
Each Panel then consists of a set of commands/shortcuts/actions, which are accessed by scrolling left or right.
These commands/shortcuts/actions are termed as Pages.
So, we have: - Slider: mechanism in which the Panels are made to 'slide' up or down
- Panel 1: the rectangles which scroll/slide up or down
- Page 1: set of commands/shortcuts/actions
- Page 2
- Page 3
- Panel 2
- Panel 3
Using the info above, let's go through the steps of actually creating a new Panel for our Slider.
You will need to install: (Download links courtesy: 'kareljack'. Thank you!) - Open CHome - You will be in the CHome Configurator Screen. You will see a list of names such as CClock, CAppointments, CHome etc.. These are the labels for each Panel you have on your phone. Bold Black are the ones you see. Grey ones are hidden - not visible. Use the Show/Hide button to make them visible or hide as the case may be.
- Press Menu
- Press 3 (for Panel)
- Press 1 (for New - we will create a new panel)
- Create a new custom panel?
- Press Yes
- Panel name: This will be the 'label' to your panel as noted in 1. above
- Let's give it a name: Panel61
- Press OK: You will be taken back to the Panel Label List and you should see your new panel listed in that list. You might have to scroll up or down.
- Highlight the new panel - Panel61
- Press Menu
- Press 3 (for Panel)
- Press 3 (for Customize)
- You will see a page with greyed out boxes. Dont worry.
- Press Menu
- Press 3 (for Page)
- Press 1 (for New)
- Create a New Page?
- Press Yes
- Page Title: Type in Settings - we will create a shortcut to the 'Settings' menu/application. Will show on the homescreen
- Action URL: Here we will use the 'readymade' stuff provided by CHome. With the cursor in the Action URL box...
- Press Menu
- Press 4 (for Template)
- Press 1 (for Application Launcher): you will now go to the list of all the applications on your Q9H - thankfully - in alphabetical order.
- Scroll down to 'Settings'
- Press OK: You will go to Description page for Settings
- Enter a description as you prefer. For now, type in Make Changes
- Press OK: This will now take you to the Icons selection page.
- Chose the Icon you want to use for Settings or use the Menu to go to your own pics/images if you like (images need to be 48x48 pngs)
- Press Select to chose and confirm
- Press Done
- Back to CHome Configurator Screen with our new Panel61 hightlighted.
- Click Menu: Now run through Steps 12 to 19 and create a new page which will launch the game BubbleBreaker.
- Now once you are back on CHome Configurator page with Panel 61 highlighted...
- Press Show: to make our panel visible on the homescreen. From Grey, it will now show in Black.
- Press Menu: and use the 1 and 2 keys to move the Panel61 up or down based on where you want it show on the homescreen.
- Once you are done, this next step is important. In order to save the new panels or any changes that you make, you must follow the following steps or else you'll be pulling your hair out, since no changes will be saved or made.
- Press Menu
- Press 5 (for Exit)
- Do you want to save the changes?
- Press Yes (DAAH!!)
- Ta Daaaaaaaaaa! You're done!
Disclaimer:
This is my first shot at this and those who are already familiar with 6.1 and the slider might see something that needs correcting.
I am no expert and will be looking to learn also. Hope this is helpful in some way. R J
