| NOB! Need some help on Voice & Data Plans, Please! Hi guys,
New to the forum, which by the way has been a wealth of info and has helped me in determining which phone to get so thanx.
So my question, I'm going to purchase the Moto Q Global. Which voice plans would you guys suggest?? Need about 1k minutes and unlimited data?? Does that include text mssgs?? Also, can you guys put specific names of the plans, if possible, so it's easier to find.
Thanx a bunch

| Well I'd start here (assuming att wireless based on the q global) http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-pho...lans/index.jsp
But there are things to consider such as personal or business plans,
do you need a family plan or just one for yourself. The one thing with the Q global is that you will most likely need the pda/smartphone data plan and NOT the MediaMax plan (MediaMax is for non smartphones as I understand it). My pda data plan includes 1500 txt msgs, but att just recently changed their plans so be sure to check what is and is not included.

| Yes, AT&T did change their data plans. The new unlimited data and messaging smart phone plan dropped from 49.99 to 34.99. My roommate, who is a sales rep, just told me yesterday. I was quite pleased.
I used to be a sales rep myself, and if you were my customer, I'd recommend the 59.99 plan. Come with 900 Rollover minutes, unlimited mobile to mobile and unlimited nights and weekends. Then add the plan for 34.99 and that would cover unlimited data and messaging, whether they be text, multi, or video.
If you REALLY think you'd go over the 1K, try the 1300 plan. You can always drop down to the 900 minute plan if you aren't using them, and it doesn't restart your contract or any other silly hogwash like the other companies. The only penalty is you would lose any rollover minutes you've accrued.
Hope I could help. |

Hope I could help. | Get them to change your IMEI to a non-PDA phone, and get a regular voice plan with Unlimited media net... (it will work, I can assure you) The PDA connect plans are more than twice the price and do nothing more for you. They will ask for your IMEI when you ask for that feature and you just tell them that you don't use the Q9, and tell them you have a regular phone... AT&T's just trying to get more for the same feature, and I know this because both plans are configured the same way when provisioning for unlimited data on at&t's billing system...

I was actually looking for this thread to post on it. I had the same thing done for me. It does work, like a charm. |

Thanks |

Thanks | Just tell them you don't use it anymore. You gave it to your son, you don't have the SIM in it, whatever. And then give them an IMEI to a NON-PDA phone. They'll set you up with the appropriate plan. |

| Along these same lines, i'm going to be buying a Q Global in the coming weeks, and i was told (like others have mentioned), that i have to accept the 39.99 unlimited data plan. I think they told me that my $150 rebate is contingent upon this. Are they lying? Or do i have to bite the bullet initially w/ the 39.99, then change the plan down the road when i tell them i'm not using a PDA anymore? |

| I changed to the unlimited media max plan yesterday, I just put in my sim card to my new Moto Q. I never called them about my IMEI switch *got the phone on ebay* , but on the att wireless account website, it shows that I'm using a Moto Q and I haven't notified them. Am I going to be ok using the Media Max plan or do I have to switch to a PDA plan???
