And that's it?

Funny. I have system font size, but I don't have the smartdial setting you have. Weird. What kind of Q9h do you have ???? I have the Q Global, by AT&T.

If I don't find a solution (and maybe there isn't one) then I'll have to consider the Treo 750 which I'm told can adjust the Font size.

Otherwise I'll just have to stay with my Nokia N95 8GB and forget about email etc.

Daryl, mexiken told you now to proceed with the changing of the font size, try follow up on that and see what comes of it. Also, I know its a pain in the ass to find software that actually works. I have seen software listed for Mobile 6 and when you try it won't work, even 6.0 phone editions and still nothing, sometimes depends on how they check and which system types they make it for.

Mine is a regular Q 9h from a store in Hong Kong and is not liked or supplied by any carrier.

Is it possible to install different firmware as one can with the Nokia phones?

I tried but as you'll see in the post above, my firmware doesn't have this option.

Somehow I need to change to a different firmware version?

Well now that you mention its a Hong Kong one, its using Euro ROM which has enough differences that it could act and behave unexpectedly. You need to look into it and see what is going on.

If you've got a Euro phone, its bound to be different. You can try flashing with other Euro ROMs, hopefully they'll work, but they'll throw your settings off, unless you find the correct ROM file for that same carrier. I believe GrameCR has them hosted somewhere.

Agreed, this would have been our advice ALOT earlier if we knew.

Firstly let me say thank you very much, you guys are superstars and I'm highly appreciative!

Secondly, I've been playing with the phone for a couple of hours now and it's fantastic.

Thirdly my problem is worse than having Euro ROM, I've got Asian ROM as for instance Google is in Chinese so I need to flash to either UK ROM or Australian ROM.

The good news is that my phone is 100% carrier independent and will thus work with any carrier.

How do I find GrameCR please and what's the flashing procedure?

Thanks again.

Darryl

Hes posted a message all over the place. You should be able to type in his name and find him, although I don't know if I spelled it correctly. Either way, type in "barker not set" in the search box, and you'll find the thread that hes all over, trust me.
