Here's a "How to" thread on changing the Carrier name to whatever you want. It does involve some XML editing.

I saw on this forum or other one...you call simply rename the "Normal' profile and edit from "Normal" to your "Name & Phone Number". Click on the profile and select "Normal", Menum and Edit. Change "Normal" in the name box to your name & phone number, or whatever info you wish to display.

Yes you can have it show you anything you want, as long as you know how to mod it, you can have it give you the carrier, whoever it is, wherever you are as well as whatever custom stuff you want it to say. You can can have it call you King Kong if you want, not a problem. The permission access can be avoided if you run the permission elevation program while trying to access the machine and if you have explorer access even without RAPI you can get the file transferred over and modified it. If you try to mod directly, then yeah its a headache.

Not being sarcastic at all. I really want to change it, but don't know how. When I tried, it just didn't work out for me. I guess I'll try to look around and see if I can find the thread that explained it.

Like how? Take a pic of piece of paper with your name and number then use it as background? Lol... guess if gets the job done for the OP, then it's mission accomplished.

probably by using a graphic editor like PhotoShop or Paint Shop... heck, you can even use Paint :}

or... take a picture of your name & number in the phonebook and use it as a background :}
