Default New Moto Q Global Owner with Questions

I just got a new Q Global and I'm wondering about a few small things-

I have an unlimited messaging plan, and was running the AIM application on my phone. Does this cause the screen to turn on whenever my AIM buddies sign off and on? It was flashing on every few seconds, but when I signed out of AIM, it stopped turning on. It still turns on when I get a new text or call, but not randomly like it was.

Also, is there possibly a clear hard case that fits over the extended life battery? I saw this one, but I don't think it works with the longer battery. That's the kind of case I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance. I definitely love the new phone!

Just thought of another question- Is there some sort of button somewhere besides the red "end" button that can be used to shut the phone completely off? Every once in awhile when I'm playing Bubble Breaker or something (hasn't happened yet when I'm doing something important), the phone will randomly shut off. I'm assuming this isn't supposed to happen...

yes, in general the screen will turn on at quite a few things. when the phone accesses data, or when switching to and from roaming and so on.
welcome aboard

I've noticed the turning off/on of the display when I'm logged on to aim or yahoo messenger. I suspect that it's the app refreshing itself.

As far as the random reboot, there is no clear answer as to why this happens. If you do a search, you will find multiple threads concerning this issue.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Q9H and EverythingQ. EQ has got to be your one-stop shop for all things Q!

The Mobiproducts is a nice hard case. When I wanted to buy a hard case for my Q9H, this particular one was out of stock so I went with another popular brand - but not clear plastic.

It looked nice, protected the phone etc, but I found it a big battle to get the darn things off to get to the battery (either to change it from standard to extended or for a soft-take-battery-out-put-it-back-in-reset!).

I thus said 'Off with it!" and it stayed off.

As of now, I have a screen protector and a nice looking leather flip case like this one:
