Default My Q9h reset when sending an email..

Just sending an email like I'd been doing every day for the past 3 or so months... and it locked up. Waited several minutes... decided that I needed to take the battery out to reset it. Once it re-started, it said, "starting your phone for the first time."

Goodbye pictures of my 10 month old and my girlfriend, goodbye personal settings, goodbye installed programs, goodbye custom everything.

Went back and forth between AT&T, and finally they conceded that it must have been a problem with the phone, but the guy warned me that this can be a problem with *ANY* smartphone... so I'm passing on the warning.

Back your stuff up, because even if you're doing the absolute most mundane thing, your phone can still blow up and die.

try killing all running apps before attempting the back up with sprite.

first 2 times i tried to back up mine, it froze as well or locked up the q, can't remember which.

i have a few apps running in the background (PCP, clock on top, right menu, etc.). i killed them all, ran a back up, and it worked. and has since with everything stopped.

your Q will reboot at a certain point, i didn't realize it is suppose to and thought i hosed all my installed apps.

Just tried that. Still didn't work for me. Said it failed backing up indexes. Why does every program hate the Q9h ????

I don't know..but I've had nothing less than success with my Q9h! Sprite backup and other 3rd party apps have functioned sweet..Facade, Qnotes, a casino game, etc.

Maybe you should hard reset and start fresh again.

See.. the thing is, I did some hacks... and everything was fine. Worked stellar for over a month. Did all my regular business, calls were fine, shutdown/restart was fine... so then I was lulled into this sense of "Wow, this is a really stable OS!" No need to fear at all.

Then, all of a sudden, doing something I've done tons of times every single day, the thing is just hosed.

It just doesn't make any sense. Computers aren't like that... gaming consoles aren't like that. I don't know of any electronic hardware that works wonderfully and completely wipes after breaking on a regular task.
