Moto q9h Fido modem

Good day,
I would like to use my motoq9h (Fido carrier, canada) and surf with my laptop using a USB connection.
I used WMDC. my laptop and the phone recognized each other, and I am able to exchange files, sync, etc...
Now, how do I connect to the internet? Under connections settings, I guess the "connections USB" must be checked...what about the rest of the settings?
and what about my phone settings? Does it need to be switch to modem?

not sure about the Q9h, on the Q1 you need to run PDANet.

In the "windows" folder of the phone, look for a file named IntShrUi. That's the internet sharing utility. No need for PDANet.... just click on the file while connected to your computer via USB.

I do not see the file IntShrUi under "Windows". I even did a serach on my phone, and no files were found under that name. What is the next step?

You need to make sure you uncheck the "hide system files" and "hide hidden files" is unchecked, so it will show you the file.

It works! thank you.
Now, I would like to create a shortcut in my Start menu. It do not see it. What I did so far:
1- I did "copy to" the IntShrUI.lnk into my "Start Menu" folder. Then, when I try to creat a shortcut, it says: denied permission.
2- Also, when i press on properties of thet file (now in Start Menu folder), I can see in the Attributes thet athe "Hidden box" is checked and I cannot uncheck it. I guess this is why I cannot see the icon in my start menu.

What can I do the see the shortcut icon when I press "Start"?

Highlight the intshrui.exe. Hit the right soft key, then hit file, and select the 6th option, Create Shortcut. Then navigate to \Windows\Start Menu, and hit done. Done and done.

Software install Unlock might help.
You need a to install the attached file, its a registry edit tool for WM, and change two entries following the steps below,
Steps Below will unlock your phone for any software installation/short Cuts on your locked phone

-Download regeditSTG.zip
-Copy regeditSTG.zip to your Device or Micro SD card
-browse the file and open it, it will prompt you to install regeditSTG
-say yes, than Select device for installation.
-Once the installtion is complete than, open file manager on your device
-go to "My Documents" than you will see regedit.exe, run it, than..
-HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\
than click Values and here you need to change two values
00001001 change it from 2 -->-- 1 than click Done
00001005 change it form 16-->-- 40 than click Done

Note: Keep in mind if you going to use you phone as a modem, Fido will charge you seperatly for that and that data which you will use on your Notebook will not be deducted from your data plan on phone, I am not sure that same for 6 GB plan but I am 100% sure for other plans
