This leads me to believe that some headsets just do not have the ability of sounding the ringtone of the phone and there is nothing you can do on the phone to change the preprogrammed functionality of the headset.
Thanx for your input. I don't doubt this is true. However in my case I'm 100% positive its not the headphones/headset that is preventing me from accomplishing what I want. As I also have a Cingular 8125 that I have been able to get to function the way I have requested via a hacked bluetooth cab file.

Anyone know of a hack or program that routes all system/phone sounds to the bluetooth headset/headphones?

Its a cool sign and I was about to ask how do we use it, until I realized its on an external server and it would be rude to just jack the bandwidth and use it. Very nice though, maybe you can have it put in the "smiley" list

Pretty much all of the motorola headsets that I have used DO play the custom ring (and all the system sounds) through the headset (with no special setup), so the phone is inherently capable. However; if I take the same headset and pair it with my RAZR2 i don't get the custom rings from that phone. Although I never bothered to figure out why (only used that phone for 3 weeks and then came back to my Q)
So your headset may be capable, and the phone is capable. But they may not be capable together

I know that the V3xx had this option, but I haven't seen it in the phone.

Well said Paco, thank you for saying what I couldn't say eloquently enough. I have experience with HP iPAQ 6515, RAZR V3, L7i and the same H850 bluetooth headset and it always provides the same tone that happens to be playing on the phone. Usually I have it on one of the defaults and nothing too special and it always came through as is. Never did anything special or had any special tones or any special anything so I can't really be sure. HP was locked, RAZR was locked, L7i wasn't and neither is my Q9h. The HP was on Cingular (pre-At&t) and RAZR was Verizon. So go figure.

I understood his question, but only after he clarified a bit. Unfortunately, its up to the particular pairing of the headset and phone, as Paco mentioned, unless the headset has a certain Bluetooth profile, or there is an option for this within the phone's firmware. So, that being said, I don't believe you're going to be able to get what you want out of this phone/headset feature. I shall check with my bluetooth if it works with custom ringtones.
Thanx mexiken! I look forward to your findings.

That's why I didn't want to use it without permission, I knew it was on your server and trying to be respectful of your bandwidth

I finally got a chance to look for my Jawbone, and found it. I am charging it as we speak and will let you know what I come up with. Had trouble finding it since I haven't used it in about 4 months.
