Internet Explorer as Default

Change the web browser button on the top left of the phone to launch Internet Explorer instead of Opera.

1. Launch the registry application on your mobile device
2. Go to HKEY_Current_User/Control Panel/Keybd
3. Find the value APP3_Path
4. Change the data from OperaLaunch.exe to iexplore.exe

Change the default homepage of Internet Explorer from AT&T's Mobile Net to Google.

2. Go to HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AboutURLs\
3. Find the value home_0405
4. Change the data from http://device.home to http://www.google.com
5. Find the value home_0407
6. Change the data from http://device.home to http://www.google.com
7. Find the value home_0409
8. Change the data from http://device.home to http://www.google.com

i wonder if this same formula for replacing opera with IE would work for other keys?

like have pocket player come up instead of wmp when you press the music button? (kinda scared to do it myself, hint hint...)

i've tried to remapp pocket player to the music key, but it doesn't work. but i do have the app installed on my card instead of phone memory.

any ideas how to get this to work? (that's the only key i currently don't use now.)

ok were in business, some what

i couldn't get it to work with pocket player, it's installed on my memory card. however i did remap the music key for resco file explorer (it's installed on the phones memory) with the following:

APP2_Path
\program files\resco\Explorer.exe

i first thought it was only going to work with apps in the cells rom, but this works. i'm trying to figure out the right path input to get it work with the memory card. any suggestions??

how about

\storage card\program files\pocket player\pocketplayer.exe

That appears to be the location where mine is (I have it installed on my card) when I look it up in Resco.

thanks rainmakerrc, i tried that and it didn't work, thanks for the reply though. before i posted this, i used resco to get the file location and was sure it would work too.

i finally got it work though. i copied the pocket player folder from program files folder on the card, and pasted it in the cell's program files folder, and sweet sucess!!

here it is:
APP2_Path
\program files\pocket player\pocketplayer.exe

so if there's an app you want truly "hot keyed" just add in the corresponding info and your golden!

think i'm gonna remap my calendar key too, lol
