From what i've seen, you can add insurance to any phone up to 30 after purchase.

Yeah and you have to be able to call the number from your phone, at least thats what Assurion would do in the past (they insure verizon). This is to prevent you getting the insurance because your phone died instead of in case your phone dies.

You are allowed to add insurance for an eligible phone for up to 30 days after you purchase said phone.

It is NOT an AT&T requirement to call from the phone. You may call from any phone. Many of my customers would call from the store phone.

Who handles AT&T insurance? Is it AT&T themselves?

It used to be Lockline. But about halfway through last year, AT&T switched to Assurion. It annoyed me personally as a sales rep. They have all kinds of restrictions about insurance. 30 days timeframe to add insurance, a notarized affadavit within the first 60 days if you request a replacement, and a host of other restrictions were NEVER part of Lockline. Assurion is a hassle to work with too on the phone.

I didn't know they had that added restriction with Verizon. You don't even have to call it in with AT&T. It can be added through any computer in the store, and over the phone with as Customer Service Rep. Heck, you can even add it yourself on-line !!!!

Sweet!! I almost sent back the Q9h because we can't get insurance on it. This is now verified for anyone who wasn't sure. I have called AT&t and have insurance now (I am really bad with my phones so I need it).
