Default Install Google maps?

Hi there, i kinda feel like an idiot asking this novice question:
How do i install Google Maps on the Q9h??

I've downloaded the .CAB file to my PC, but there isn't an executable file in the zip file.

Activesync doesn't show the program in 'add/remove programs' list.

I've even moved the .CAB file to the Q's program files folder, but that doesn't do anything for it either.

What am i missing?

BTW, i had to grab the file from http://www.scottschrob.com/q/apps.htm
because the google maps link got me an Error 404.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Move the .cab file to your Q (leave it zipped), navigate to it with your Q's file explorer, and execute it.

I got the same Error 404 when I tried downloading Google Maps using the Opera browser. However, when I tried downloading it using the IE browser, it worked! It then installed from the .cab file in less than 30 seconds.

And by the way, I love Google Maps. One of my favorite apps on my Q9h!

Hi Everyone. I'm new here and just bought the Q9H two weeks ago. Was using Palm for years so I'm trying WM now. I have another question but that's for another thread. So what does the Google Maps do?

You can use it to find places and business and get driving directions, etc.

Its a basic map/directions/live search program. Although I've had very little luck getting the GPS section of it to work.

I use the maps extensively and it works great.

Der Alta,

Have you installed the GPSID utility and GPS Test ????

The former helps you set the GPS to a COM port (use 1 or 3), and the GPS Test helps you fire up the chip quicker so you can use the programs.

Thanks... but uh.. I'm from Asia. Is this GPS facility to download Google Maps only applicable for the phones in the US or can users in Asia use the maps in their own countries as well? (Apologies for my lack of knowledge on other stuff other than the basics...)
