I never see "E" (edge), only G (gprs)

How to fix it? i'm 100% sure, i have EDGE connection, but when i'm using internet, i see only "G" sing, how to fix it?

So when you use pie or opera your band switches from E to G every single time?

I never saw "E" sign on my Q, but on my old Samsung phone it was!

What carrier do you have? Do you have a euro or north american Q9h? You could always try the band select hack. This hack will allow you to select between networks.

I have typical carrier in Russia, MTS.ru - it's a T-Mobile's company in Russia. And of course have a GPRS, EDGE, but does not have a 3G, whatever, on my old Samsung D820 (T809 in USA) i have a EDGE connection, but now when i surfing from my Q, in Any apllication, i see only "G" sign on signal level icon.
How to disable 3G connection? maybe my phone everytime tring to connect 3G, but can't find it.

Once done, you can select your phone to only be on edge.

Enable band selection:
1. Go to Home Screen
2. Type *#1546792*# and then send
3. You will see new screen that indicates that Band
Selection was enabled
4. Now you can go to Settings/Phone/Network/Band
Selection
