Default Hooking up to corporate email

I'm looking at the Q and was wondering... is it possible to connect to my corporate email exchange server? All I know is that the server is behind our firewall, so I don't know if its possible.

Any help would be nice.

Unfortunately, our exchange server is behind our firewall and I'm not able to access email outside of our network. Does anyone have any ideas on a workaround? I was thinking of maybe I could VPN into it through the Q, but don't know if its possible. I also was wondering if i could forward my emails from work to a yahoo account or something and then access it from the Q.

Anyone have any suggestions????? I'm working with my IT department to try and do something, but it'll be a while (as I was told that they have to separate the exchange server from the network).

I don't know how to set it up so that ALL messages forward, but you can set it up for everyone in your Contacts. Assuming you're using Outlook, go to Tools --> Rules Wizard. Then, just follow the steps. You're going to click "New" then "Start from Blank Rule". Then choose "When messages arrive", next "from people or a distribution list" and be sure to click the link and select EVERYONE in your contacts list. Click "Next" and choose the option for "forward it to people or a distribution list" and click the link again, and enter your Yahoo account. Then click "Finish".

Hope this helps.

thanks for your response. That's what I was thinking, but its probably not my first choice. I'm hoping maybe I can VPN into my network and then connect to our exchange server. does anyone know if there is software to VPN with the Q?

Larger corporations will setup IMAP proxys to front the Exchange servers to the public internet. Alternatively, MS Exchange also will accept connections from http clients, so you could come at the Exchange with the IE browser instead. Either option requires your IT department to configure the server accordingly, but if they are worth thier cost they should be able to set that up quite easily. Let me say that any company today that doesn't have a public internet front end mechanism to interface to MS Exchange is living in the Dark Ages.

Default RE: corp email

Good Mobile Messaging is the way to go. Ask your IT department about it. Chances are they already have a Good server installed

If they don't have Good and wont give your the push via the exchange server, then using Xpressmail (If you are and AT&T Customer) is they work around I use.
