It still has Telenav in some small print but the "about" shows that it is AT&T Maps Version: 1.2.0.7 with an option to upgrade to AT&T Navigator.
Turn on the gps status icon with the registry setting:
HKLM\Services\LCAService, DisplayIcon=1
You will see that as soon as you load the ATT Maps program it is starting to aquire a lock on gps satellites. You don't need to do anything else in that program. But, if AT&T has any inside info to use the gps to get the fix faster then you will get the benefits.
